The newly-built Amroth Parish Hall at Summerhill is clearly coming into its own.
The latest successful event was a very enjoyable morning organised by Summerhill WI to celebrate St. David's Day, when a large crowd enjoyed Welsh Cakes, bara brith, tea and coffee. The highlight was the visit of approximately 50 pupils from Stepaside School who entertained with dance and song.
Craft fayres are booked on Saturday, March 14, and Saturday, April 4, 2-4 pm. Tables are £5 only - to book ring 831761.
A course, 'Introduction no Computers', will be available from April 20, 9.30 - 11.30 am. Fee £10. The hall is fully equipped for this.
In the pipeline are the following eight-week courses - gentle exercise, making greetings cards, glass painting, digital photography. Tuition, rent and materials are free. For details, ring (01834) 813610.
Summerhill WI were very grateful to the Kemble family for their hospitality during last year when the dining room was always available for meetings. But it is so good to be 'home' again in the new hall for the meetings held every second Monday at 7 pm.
Amroth WI meets every second Tuesday at various locations. For details, ring 813434.
The ever-popular bingo sessions recommence on Friday, April 3, and will continue through until the end of October. Doors open at 7 for 8 pm in the Parish Hall.
The meeting room in the hall will be busy on Thursday, March 12. Nerys Evans AM will hold a surgery there, 6 - 7 pm, and the history group from 7.30 pm.
The efficient Coastcare Group will meet on Amroth beach on March 29 at 2 pm.
In the very near future, a Cinema Club will be formed - watch this space!
Every Sunday, a service is held at Stepaside Methodist Chapel at 11 am and at St. Elidyr's, Amroth, at 9 am. Everyone is welcome.
