Scouts from 4th Pembroke Lamphey Group thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Air Defence Range at Manorbier recently.

On arrival, they were met by Warrant Officer Steve Barry who gave a brief history of the camp and then took them on a tour of the establishment.

The Scouts saw so many interesting things, including the radar in operation, the pilotless aircraft workshops and the firing simulator, which the boys especially enjoyed.

They met and were able to thank Major Peter Sulman, the Range Commandant, for allowing them this special visit.

While they toured the site, the Scouts were amazed at the variety of birds and flowers around the cliffs which is probably because so few people are able to access the site.

They all felt it was a real privilege to be able to see what happens on the range at Manorbier.
