Pembrokeshire County Council's front-line staff have been issued with smart new uniforms.

Around 20 full-time and relief staff who work in the authority's customer service centres around the county have been issued with the corporate-style outfits.

The attire comprises a navy suit with skirt or trousers with a deep red shirt or top and was worn for the first time on Monday - the start of National Customer Service Week.

"It will enable customers to easily identify the customer service assistants who are able to help them with all their Council enquiries" explained Customer contact manager, Tracy Amos.

Customer Service Centres are located in Argyle Street in Pembroke Dock; Milford Haven Town Hall; Fishguard Town Hall; Neyland Library; and County Hall in Haverfordwest.

They allow customers access to council services on their door step. Friendly and helpful staff are on hand to help customers reach the services they need easily and without fuss.

Blue Badges and rail cards for the Over 60s can be issued from the centres direct so long as customers bring along the correct supporting letters and documents (for more information ring 01437 764551). The centres can also help with local bus times.

Customers can also pick-up a wide range of forms from the centres including those for housing benefit, council tax benefit, and council housing.

If customers prefer not to complete the forms themselves they can use private interview room facilities to complete the forms over the telephone with friendly customer service staff working in the council's contact centre.

Customer Service Centres are also the place to place a housing bid if you are on the housing system and have seen a house you would like to apply for.

The centres sell black and green sacks, as well as providing orange bags for items which can be recycled. If you have items of furniture which need to be disposed off the centres can arrange for them to be collected.

For our business customers a small number of blue trade waste refuse bags can be purchased from any of the centres.

Householders can use the centres to report and record problems with our streets such as broken street lights, litter, grass cutting and road or pavement repairs.
