The Holiday Information Centre has moved from Tudor Square in Tenby to Deer Park. A concept created by Activity Wales to improve partnerships between activity and accommodation operators, has grown over the past 10 years to offer everything from the original activity and accommodation bookings to Stena Line, Irish Ferries, National Express and British Rail and still remains the only operator in town to offer all these services. National and regional press have reported on the demise of the traditional Travel Agents who have come under pressure due to the advent of the accessibility of tourism products over the internet. However, The Holiday Information Centre remains the only place that has retained these contracts. Matthew Evans, CEO, said: "The entire Activity Wales model has changed over the years, but the Tenby branch continues to grow. High Street agents have traditionally struggled over the past few years and the withdrawal of all agents selling key services to the local marketplace throughout Wales is proof of this. "However, Tenby business has grown year on year, and I certainly put this down to a combination of factors. Gemma, the manager, has been a catalyst in creating and delivering a fabulous service with great emphasis on the personal elements that make the difference for people who want more than a soulless 'on-line experience'. "The people of Tenby have really appreciated this extra care and attention when planning their days out/travel arrangements and have become loyal customers. We have been careful to re-invest in order to continue offering the highest standards in the county." Gemma Burton, manager of the Tenby office, said: "It is fabulous to move into our new premises at Deer Park at this time as demand for bed bookings and activities is at its highest and being on one of the main gateways to Tenby we are receiving so many visitors in addition to our local customers. What's more, we have the space to sit with clients and explain exactly what is on offer in the area to suit their requirements." Activity Wales' sister company, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire and Goscar Rock Internet have also re-located to Lantern House, both companies requiring far more space than the former office provided due to continued growth. Sophie Evans, Coastal Cottages' managing director, said: "We have had a fabulous 2006, having moved into large, new offices in Haverfordwest and Tenby within three months of one another - it has been such an exciting time and our record bookings for 2006 have illustrated the positive impact this has had on our entire team and the quality of properties we are being offered by owners. "It is lovely to be able to make use of the space and have such a lovely meeting room with presentation facilities in a town where space is at such a premium. I am looking forward to welcoming our existing owners and guests and many more in the future to our new Tenby base."
