THE Licensing of Rev. Shirley Rayner as Team Vicar in the Carew Rectorial Benefice (in pastoral charge of the parishes of Redberth, St. Florence and Manorbier) took place on Wednesday, May 4, at St. James' Church, Manorbier, by Rev. Canon Dennis Wight, Bishop's chaplain.

The service was also led by Rev. Canon Michael Butler, Area Dean of Pembroke, and Rev. Nigel Thomas, Rector of Carew Rectorial Benefice.

Children from St. Florence and Manorbier Schools joined the congregation and sang a number of songs. Manorbier children also read a poem composed for the occasion.

Shirley's husband Anthony and other members of her family were present, and a large congregation gathered to welcome them. The new Team Vicar and her husband will be moving to the Vicarage in Manorbier shortly.
