A new team of officers has taken over the running of the Rotary Club of Tenby at the club assembly and handover dinner.

At the dinner, outgoing president Alan Jones gave an account of the past year which had been very successful for the club, with many enjoyable and successful fundraising and social events, and warmly thanked everyone for their support during what had been both a very enjoyable year for all, as well as allowing the club to support a considerable number of charities and good causes, locally, nationally and internationally.

President Alan was especially grateful to the local community who had shown fantastic support for the club's fundraising events, particularly the much enjoyed Tenby Harbour summer family fun, the bonfire night and carol service.

Other enjoyable events during the year had been the annual Gateway Club Christmas party and the junior school young musician which had seen a particularly high standard this year.

Following his talk, president Alan performed his last duty as president in handing over the chain of office to incoming president, Rotarian Brian Charles, whose first task in turn, was to thank Alan for the tremendous job that he had done in leading the club during the last 12 busy and successful months, a motion warmly endorsed by all club members.

New president Brian then introduced his team for the Rotary year ahead, introducing Peter Oeppen as the president-elect (president in 2013-2014) and Nigel Ayers as the president nominee (president 2014-2015).

Rotarians Graham Fry and Bob Storey are also continuing as secretary and treasurer respectively. President-elect Peter would chair the service committee, overseeing community, vocational and international support, whilst past president Richard Ormond is going to chair the fundraising, club service and membership development committee.

All incoming officers then gave an insight into their plans for the year ahead, which look set to keep everyone busy with a good selection of fundraising events, social activities, interesting speakers and club visits etc.
