Windsor Farm in Lamphey is for the first time opening its gates to its new Pumpkin Patch.

The farm is opening a new pumpkin patch to coincide with half-term and Halloween.

Back in May the Phillips Family carefully sowed a variety of seeds to produce a range of pumpkins from large to small and of different colours.

After tending them through the year they have now harvested them by hand and they are ready to be bought by families to use in their Halloween celebrations and winter cooking. The home-grown pumpkins are all carefully laid out undercover in one of the farm’s barns ready to be chosen.

The patch will open on tomorrow (Saturday, October 12) and the farm can be found by following the signs from Lamphey.

Windsor Farm, Lamphey is a third generation family farm run by the Phillips Family. Ever keen to diversify, this sheep and commercial cattle enterprise has grown pumpkins for the first time this year.

Andrew Phillips said ‘We are a dynamic farm and have been looking at further diversification.

‘Being primarily a sheep unit, growing pumpkins fits very well into our farming calendar.

‘As it’s our first year it has been quite a steep learning curve! We are really looking forward to welcoming families to Windsor Farm to choose their pumpkins’.
