The Rev. Sarah Geach, formerly a vicar in the Diocese of Hereford, was licensed as priest in charge of Begelly parish on Tuesday, May 8. The service was conducted by The Right Rev. Carl Cooper, Bishop of St. Davids, The Venerable John Holdsworth, Archdeacon of St. Davids and Rev. Canon Michael Butler, Area Dean of Narbeth Deanery. Bishop Carl warmly welcomed Sarah and her husband, Alan, to their new home and parish and wished them every blessing. During his sermon, he made reference to 'Welsh spirituality' as expounded by St. David himself. He said: "Most Welsh people are able to rehearse the important final words of our Patron Saint: 'Be joyful, keep the faith and do the little things which you have heard and seen me do'. I encourage you all to do likewise as you welcome a new priest among you. She comes with a wealth of experience, a variety of gifts and a warm and approchable personality. My prayer for you all is that you will be joyful and fruitful in this shared ministry."
