Rumours that the controversial experiment making Tenby's White Lion Street one-way was set to be reinstated next week have been scotched by Pembrokeshire County Council.
The experiment, making the street one-way from High Street to South Parade, came into force on August 3, the same time as the town's equally controversial noon to 4 pm pedestrianisation experiment.
However, following concerns being raised by county councillors, town councillors, the emergency services, residents and traders, the one-way experiment was abandoned on Saturday after just three weeks.
Rumour was rife around Tenby this week that the experiment would be resurrected on Sunday, the day after the walled town traffic ban experiment comes to an end.
However, this suggestion was firmly denied by Pembrokeshire County Council when the Observer contacted them on Wednesday.
"White Lion Street will be remaining two-way, certainly until such time as the county council has an opportunity to formally review the pedestrianisation experiment," said a council spokesman.
