SaveEasy Credit Union is opening a pop-up branch in Narberth on Friday, November 15 at the Queens Hall, which has been welcomed by the town’s community since the last bank closed its doors earlier this year.
“We’re a not-for-profit community-based financial co-operative that provides straightforward, affordable financial services,” explained Daniel Jones branch co-ordinator for SaveEasy Credit Union.
“Our initial launch is 10 am to 12 noon on Fridays but we will expand if demand is there.
“Pop and see us in Narberth for more information,” he added.
Commenting on the news, local Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate Marc Tierney said: “Following the closure of the High Street banks in Narberth earlier this year, I committed to work to reintroduce banking services in the town.
“Working alongside Clr. Vic Dennis, I am delighted that following discussions with Save Easy Credit Union, the Credit Union will launch a new collection point service in the town from November 15.
“The closure of the banks hasn’t just had an impact on businesses, it has also taken away the opportunity for people in the town to save and borrow at very competitive rates.
“Bringing a Credit Union back to Narberth is really important and I hope that if it is well used by the community, it will become a permanent fixture on our High Street.”
