Clr. Miss Rosemary Morrison was elected Mayor of Whitland this week and Clr. Craig Wilson elected as her Deputy.
Clr. Miss Morrison has lived in Whitland for some years now and joined Whitland Town Council about two-and-half years ago.
She takes a keen interest in the town and serves on other committees as well as the town council.
At Tuesday night's meeting, she thanked fellow members for their support and said she hoped to fulfill the role as well as her predecessor, Clr. Mrs. Diane Evans.
Twenty-one-year-old Clr. Wilson was co-opted onto the council in May last year and is the youngest member of the town council.
He was also elected to serve as governor for the primary school in Whitland and will serve as such for the next four years.
He has already met with the pupil council from the school and has plans to visit the school in the near future to introduce himself to staff and pupils.
