TO highlight its commitment to the members of the public it serves, Dyfed-Powys Police is introducing dedicated Customer Service Units across the force area.
Powys Division has piloted the initiative since 2007 and the model will now be replicated in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
The force has appointed customer service agents and a customer service manager in each unit.
David Harris is the customer service manager for Pembrokeshire.
He has joined the force from the leisure industry where he worked as a customer service manager.
Originally from the Midlands, he moved to Pembrokeshire nearly 12 years ago.
David said: "I love working with people. This new service will help keep people up to date on enquiries and we will also be able to offer advice.
"Not having a police background means I am coming in with fresh ideas, but all the staff in the unit are very experienced in the police environment which will be of benefit to myself."
The Pembrokeshire Unit will become live in November and staff are currently undergoing training to ensure they can deal with the variety of queries effectively.
Superintendent Claire Parmenter said: "The unit boasts a wide range of benefits aimed at improving the experience of members of the public and enabling the force to better place resources to enhance efficiency and public safety."
