Do you believe in prayer - have you ever tried it? One person said: "Why pray, when you can worry?"! Some don't believe in prayer at all, some are not sure. But many people pray... Sometimes people pray one-off prayers, for success or riches, maybe health. Like a corner shop, checking in for help. Is this how we should do it? The disciples had Jesus with them so they asked him: "How should we pray?" Here is my summary of what Jesus said from Matthew 6: 9-13: Pray to your Heavenly Father, Creator of all things - God. Keep God's name special; don't misuse it, respect it! Ask for things here to be like they are in heaven, where things are good and God is in control, not us. Ask for what you need each day, everyday. Rely on God - do not worry! If you have done something wrong, something to upset others or displease God; or not done something you should have, ask for forgiveness. Don't bear grudges against people - forgive them, daily. Ask God to keep you away from things that are tempting, but no good for you or others, and to protect and keep you away from evil. Remember the Earth, the World and the whole of everything is God's. God is the all powerful forever - that's all. Say yes to praying like Jesus. Prayer is power. Pray in Jesus' name. Prayer has the power to break addictions, heal the sick and set people free. Prayer is just us and God. If a few believers in Jesus pray and meet together, then Jesus said he will be there with them to. We do not always get immediate answers to prayers, sometimes we have to wait, sometimes the answer is no. This can be hard. Whatever your situation, pray. Don't wait until you are desperate, pray all of the time, about anything and everything. Don't give up, be persistent...keep on asking, be a nuisance! As the Lord's Prayer says, ask for forgiveness, get right with God and stay right with God by listening to the right way to go and sticking to it. If you wander off or go wrong, just keep coming back and start afresh. Don't go it alone anymore, converse with the Creator of the Universe today.
