The players at Stepaside Primary School were jumping for joy when they were presented with a brand new NatWest branded strip for their future sporting fixtures. The initiative forms part of an all-Wales programme, which was launched in January by NatWest in Wales, to strengthen the ties between bank staff and their communities. Stepaside Primary School was nominated for the award through Alyson Horton, who is the premium adviser at the NatWest branch in Carmarthen and one of the 'Friends of Stepaside.' Stepaside Primary football team draw in players from the local catchment area. They play inter- school friendly matches locally, and the players are now looking forward to taking to the field next season wearing their new strip. Alyson said: "I know how difficult it is for teams to raise funds, and this scheme seemed an ideal way for us to assist and to strengthen our ties with the local communities. It's great that NatWest, through this scheme, has agreed to give its support to the school, because of my involvement. When you give up your spare time to work for an important part of the community, such as a youth organisation, it's great that the bank is willing to give you their support." Mr. Peter Griffiths, headteacher at Stepaside Primary School, added: "We are delighted that NatWest has agreed to provide our football team with a new kit for the forthcoming season. I think it's a fantastic idea, and the players are really excited with their new strip."
