Peter Francis, auctioneers of Carmarthen, are very pleased to announce that Elizabeth Mitchell has joined them as cataloguer and assistant valuer. The vacancy arose due to the retirement of partner Mrs. Pauline Oliver last year, after a long and notable career with the firm. Miss Mitchell is a graduate of Southampton Institute where she obtained an honours degree in fine art valuation, and has worked for Mellors and Kirk in Nottingham and latterly at Arthur Johnsons and Sons in Nottingham. Particularly specialising in ceramics, silver and jewellery, Elizabeth will be responsible for general cataloguing with principal Nigel Hodson, valuation work and she will be trained to fulfil her aspiration to take the rostrum in the future. The firm's association with Steven Hill FNAVA running their office in Cardiff continues successfully and unchanged.
