Pembroke Town Council has a new councillor following the co-option of well-known local businessman George Relleen who will represent the St. Mary (South) ward. Clr. Relleen who was born in Blackwood and has lived in Pembroke for over 29 years said: "I'd like to think that I can help the council promote the history of Pembroke to residents, visitors and potential businesses. In order to raise Pembroke's profile there is a real need for all organisations and clubs within the town to pull together'. A keen rugby supporter, Clr. Relleen is currently President of Pembrokeshire District Rugby Union, chair of Pembroke RFC, and a member of the Rotary Club of Pembroke.
