Tenby Town Council has a new member after successfully co-opting a candidate at their meeting on Tuesday night.
After meeting with three prospective candidates who had put their names forward for a vacancy in the south ward, councillors voted in favour of Mr. Laurence Blackhall, a resident of Trafalgar Road, who moved to the town three years ago after spending many years holidaying in the resort.
A native of the West Midlands, Mr. Blackhall has spent most of his professional career working in the services sector for children and families, focusing on regeneration, community learning, inclusion and education.
He now works as a consultant and freelance writer and is currently trying to pen a book.
"I consider it a privilege to live in our town and would like to offer my services to serve the place that I have grown up loving and am now proud to call my home," Mr. Blackhall told councillors.
"Living in Tenby permanently has given me a new insight into the town and that has strengthened my connection and affection for the place. I recognise the contribution that the town council makes to trying to promote Tenby and push the key issues that need to be addressed," he said.
