On Tuesday, May 7, at 2 pm, in Penally Village Hall, a new Book Club will be holding its first meeting. At this meeting, the format for future monthly meetings will be worked out.

The club, which will welcome male and female members, is primarily aiming to create a regular social get-together at which everyone will have something to contribute because they may have read the same book.

No one will be forced to read books which don't interest them, but everyone is invited to have a cup of coffee and listen to the views of those who have read a prescribed book or who just want to recommend one that they've enjoyed.

The two people who have volunteered to guide the club are Carol Cavill and Carol Bradbury. If it transpires that more people would like to meet in the evening than the afternoon, then two clubs may be possible.

If you think you'd like to know more, just turn up on Tuesday bringing with you two of your favourite books.
