Another new art exhibition opened at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery on Friday.
'Sea Change' by Pamela Scott Wilkie was officially opened by museum volunteer and art teacher Joy Dee and features over 60 works from various mediums, including oils, watercolours and limited edition screen prints.
Pamela studied fine art with a painter who was a former student of Walter Richard Sickert. Her work is in many public collections throughout the world, including The Victoria and Albert Museum, Birmingham City Library, the Rijksmuseum, Holland and The University of California.
The exhibition shows a selection of work inspired by Pamela's curiosity on her travels and the transformation in ways of seeing the world this encourages.
Pamela says: "Drawing on some of these many and varied incidents, either abroad or at home, my aim is to try to distil and evoke their feeling, and keep this alive by making them into drawings, paintings or prints so that they also strike a chord with whoever happens to be looking at them. I find the way in which colour resonates an endlessly exciting adventure."
The exhibition also features the limited edition screen prints that made up Horizons, a series of 18 prints commissioned by the IKON Gallery for a special exhibition previously this year.
Many of the works are available for purchase. The exhibition runs until Friday, November 14.
On Thursday, October 30, there will be a Meet the Artist Day at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, as part of the national Big Draw campaign. Between 2 and 4 pm, Pamela Scott Wilkie will be at the museum to discuss her work. Booking is not necessary for this event.
