Wales’ Deputy First Minister Huw Irranca-Davies has appointed three new members to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
The newly appointed Members are Helen Gwenllian and John Hogg, who will serve as Members from 1 September 2025 – 31 August 2029, and Fiona Day, who will serve from 1 February 2026 – 31 January 2030.
Helen Gwenllian is a Chartered Environmentalist and has held several senior appointments in Sustainability and Regeneration. Recently, she has been sharing her experience as an accredited trainer for professional qualifications with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals.
She enjoys good food and playing games with her family and friends, as well as playing cricket with Merched Bronwydd.
Born in Pembroke, John Hogg has over 35 years’ experience at Board and senior management levels in the public sector. He is also a former voluntary Chair of the environmental charity, Keep Wales Tidy and is a Governor at Ysgol Caer Elen.
He has a strong belief in the importance of the environment and how the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park’s work should help communities and businesses to thrive. Awarded an MBE for services to environmental management in 2021, outside of work he has a keen interest in Welsh heritage apples, orchards and bee keeping.
Fiona Day is an environmental educator and conservation professional with expertise in public engagement, youth leadership, and biodiversity conservation. She holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Sustainability and Ecology.
She currently works for The Mammal Society as Education and Community Engagement Lead. Fiona is passionate about inspiring people of all ages to connect with wildlife and has experience working with schools, communities, and young people to broaden access to nature.
She also volunteers as a Girlguiding Leader and is a member of the British Ecological Society’s Education and Careers Committee.
