As reported last week, the students of Netherwood have had a busy, fun-filled week of activities to celebrate the end of term.
A group of senior students decided that a trip to the Clothes Show at the NEC in Birmingham would be a good end of term treat and set about persuading Mr. Davies their art teacher to do the organising. He agreed and upon their return, it was clear that everyone had enjoyed the experience, especially the catwalk show compared by Vernon Kay.
The annual senior school Christmas ball has also been held. The students had spent most of the day preparing the school hall and then it was home to get ready. All the students made a real effort to dress for the occasion as the photographs show.
The following day, as the seniors were clearing away, the younger students had their Christmas Party. This followed a real feast of a Christmas dinner prepared and served by Mrs. D. and Margaret.
To end the term, the students headed down to St. Issell's Church for the school carol service. Between the carols, students representing each of the forms, read Christmas stories and poems chosen by Mrs. Alice James. There were also musical items sung by the school choir under the direction of Miss Helen Standing.
Principal, Mr Huw Morris, after thanking Canon Butler for allowing the school to use the church, then declared that it was the end of term and wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
