Playing in excellent conditions at Milford Haven on Sunday, the Narberth Under 13s quickly established their superiority in what became a rather one-sided contest.
From the kick off, Narberth ran the ball back at their opponents and gained a foothold in the opposite half of the field. The first lineout was won by second row forward Ben Davies who made ground before the ball was passed along the back line for winger Daniel Higginson to cross in the coner for a try.
The home side came back strongly from the restart, but were caught out by a quickly taken tapped penalty to speedy fullback Gethin Salter who outran the defence for the second try.
Despite these early setbacks, the Milford pack was playing well and drove the visitors back into their own half. But, after a period of pressure on the Narberth line, the home side was again caught out by a quickly taken tapped penalty that resulted in centre Gavin James crossing for a converted try.
Another score quickly followed from the restart as hooker Luke Davies won a strike against the head. The ball was then passed through seven pairs of hands before winger John Boswell crossed in the corner.
Shortly before half-time, Gethin Salter crossed for another try.
With the slope in their favour in the second half, Milford took the game to their opponents and succeeded in keeping them in their own half for long periods. Before the end, though, the floodgates opened for Narberth as they ran in another two tries from Gethin Salter and one apiece from Gavin James and Rian Whatmore.
Milford scored a deserved consolation try before the final whistle.
