Week three of the Summer League took place last week at the RFC and the big match saw Ray Spencer take on Steve Poole, who were both unbeaten before the start of the night, and Ray took an early 2-0 lead, only to be pegged back to 3-3, and then Steve took the last two legs to pull off a good win. The match between Colin Hallwood and Rob Cottle saw Rob failing to match his finishing with his scoring, seeing Colin hitting his doubles with frequency and suprisingly winning by seven legs to one. But later on, a more confident Rob went on to record a good 6-2 win over Peter James, who himself had just lost out to Adam Kelly by 5-3. Two players picking up their first points were Paul Scheffler, who beat Danny Unsworth by 5-3, and Danny, who earlier on in the night shared a draw with Andrew Pearce. The other match saw Jeff Jones move into second place with a comfortable 6-2 win over Gavin Smith. Achievements on the night came from Ray Spencer 180, Steve Poole 108 out and 2 x 21 darts, Danny Unsworth 148 out, Colin Hallwood 20 darts, Andrew Pearce 114 out, Adam Kelly 180, 2 x 21 and a 19 darter, Paul Scheffler 180, Jeff Jones 19 darts, Gavin Smith 21 darts and Rob Cottle 122 out and 2 x 21 darts. There are no matches tonight (Friday) as it is Civic Week. Next matches take place on Friday, August 1, at the RAOB.
