The final night of the Summer Darts League took place last Friday at the RAOB, and it went right down to the last leg of the final match between Chris Jenkins and Jeff Jones.

Earlier, Jeff had played his match in hand, beating Colin Hallwood by 7-1, which meant going into the final match with the same total points as Chris. And at 4-3 to Jeff, a draw could have been the outcome, but a determined Mr. Jones hit his double to take the title of Champion 2008, which Chris won last year (well done to both players on such consistent darts).

Third place went to Gavin Smith, who secured that spot on the Monday as he was unable to attend on the night. While fourth spot had to be played off between Gavin James and Adam Kelly after they tied with the same points, and Gavin finished in style with a high checkout, leaving Adam to take fifth.

Just behind by one point was Steve Poole, who recorded a 4-4 with Rob Cottle and a 5-3 win over Gavin James. Seventh spot went to Rob Cottle. Paul Scheffler played against Rob on Wednesday and won 5-3, while on Friday he hit a brick wall when he played Andrew Pearce, losing by 6-2 (well done to Andrew, leaving it late to win his first match).

Danny Unsworth took ninth spot, while Colin Hallwood slipped down to 10th, which was a bit too close to Peter James, who finished off with a good win over Andrew Pearce.

Achievements on the night came from: Steve Poole 20 and 18 darts, Rob Cottle 20 and 21 darts, Chris Jenkins 180, Gavin James 21 and 20 darts and 129 out and Jeff Jones 18, 16 and 14 darts and 111 out.
