PEMBROKESHIRE College Complementary Therapies student Jodie Warlow, of Narberth, secured first place for Level 3 Junior Massage at the annual Salon Cymru competition held in Cardiff earlier this month.
Over 500 hairdressing and beauty enthusiasts from schools, colleges and training providers all across Wales travelled to Cardiff to showcase their talent.
It was Jodie’s first time competing at Salon Cymru, and she was overwhelmed when the announcement was made.
“I was not expecting to win at all, so when they read my name out I was completely shocked - I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “It was an amazing experience, and I would definitely consider taking part in the competition next year.”
Lecturer Cath Chapman is extremely proud of her achievement and is glad that she was able to use her talent to represent the college.
“It is an exceptional opportunity for Jodie in terms of furthering her career, and I am so glad that her hard work has been recognised at a national level,” she remarked.
Past winners have gone on to compete in international events and have appeared on ITV’s This Morning.
