The speed of traffic in two of Narberth's housing estates is causing concern to members of the town council. Speaking at Tuesday night's monthly meeting, Clr. Colin Williams said the speed of vehicles using the 156-house Coxhill estate was "absolutely horrendous." "Something has got to be done before there is a nasty accident," said Clr. Williams who asked for a letter to be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council requesting that speed reduction measures, such as rumble strips, be introduced. Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers also reported similar problems in Halkon Crescent and asked for the request to include that estate as well. Meanwhile, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees expressed concern about cars accelerating as they reached the lower end of the Town Moor car park and doing handbrake turns. "Perhaps a speed ramp could be put under the height restriction bar to alleviate the problem," she said. Members agreed to ask the clerk, Mrs. Caroline Coaker, to write to the local authority with their requests.
