A Narberth lingerie boutique has given a neighbouring charity shop a 'big boost' - by donating four bin bags of old bras to help it raise funds.

The Tenovus shop in Narberth is appealing for old bras, as well as old clothes to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month.

When Pretty Lovely Lingerie Boutique owner Katie Howells saw the appeal, she knew she was in a position to 'show her support'.

"When women get fitted for new bras, they are so delighted to be in the right size that they often leave their old ones behind," said Katie.

She had been collecting them for an African charity, but when that folded, a bra mountain started to pile up.

"I had hundreds and hundreds of old bras, so I'm delighted that they can finally go to a worthwhile cause," she added.

Tenovus assistant manager Hazel Phillips said: "We are thrilled with this donation; it's lovely that another Narberth shop can help us out in this way. They will be sent off to Cardiff where they are recycled.

"All donations of clothes or bras are welcome and what we also really need at the moment is more volunteers."
