A record-breaking £1,700 was raised for RNLI funds at the Business Sponsored Luncheon organised by the Narberth Branch at Slebech Park recently.

The brainchild of Branch chairman Graham Searle, the luncheon was sponsored by A&C Aggregates, Preseli Storage, D. P. Building Supplies, Dawnus, Elite Tax and Business Solutions, Homeleigh Developments, Pembrokeshire Landscaping, Arberth Vet Centre, Signspeed, Sunset West Woodfield and Wisebuys.

Each of the Pembrokeshire or West Wales based companies sponsored a table of 10 for a three-course lunch in the luxurious marquee at Slebech Park at the value for money price of £200.

Menu cards and marquee signage for the luncheon were sponsored by Signspeed and helped to make the event such a success, with names of sponsors on the cards.

The remaining four tables of 10 were sponsored individually by committee members and guests.

Four splendid hampers for the raffle were donated by Wisebuys, of Narberth, and the complimentary tickets for Manor Park were donated by Anna Ryder Richardson, of Manor Park

The four hampers were won by Enid Jones, Jason Herbert, Barbara Harries and Joy Roach, respectively.

Brian Toms won the tickets for Manor Park and the bottle of wine was won by Val Winter.

Joy Roach very generously donated her hamper for auction, which was conducted by Graham Searle. It proved to be very popular, with many people bidding and the highest bidder was Liz Jenkins, of Liz's Coffee Shop, Narberth.

Branch chairman Graham Searle said: "The Narberth Branch would like to thank everyone who attended or supported the event in any way for their generosity. In addition, both the luncheon and the service provided by the Slebech Park staff were excellent and very much appreciated."

Sponsors and guests enjoyed the luncheon together with the ambience and setting so much that some have already asked if they can book a table for the 2012 luncheon.
