Building on the link between the town councils of Narberth and Ludlow, the committee of the Narberth and District Probus Club decided to forge a link with the Ludlow Probus Club and last October, sent a party of some 22 members and their ladies to lunch with the Ludlow Club.

May 4 saw a return visit by a contingent of Ludlow Probus with their ladies. The proprietors of the Nantyffin Motel exceeded themselves, decorating the dining room to a high standard and providing a truly excellent meal, superbly served by a most accommodating staff.

The Ludlow guests were most impressed by the new dining room and the cuisine; many in the party had decided to stay for one or two days in order to enjoy the beauty of the Welsh countryside and coastline and the weather gave promise of warm sunshine.

Geoffrey Evans, the Narberth president, made a welcoming speech suitably sprinkled with appropiate anecdotes to suit the occasion, to which David Hughes, of Ludlow, replied.

Grace was said in the language of Heaven and English, encompassing both sides of the border. Table places were set in such a way that at least two or more Ludlow members were seated among Narberth members and friendships were able to form.

It is intended that Narberth will pay a return visit to Ludlow in 2007. Meanwhile, Geoff Evans, Narberth's president, will shortly visit the Ludlow Club to give a talk of his work in the Science of Rocketry.

The next meeting of the Narberth Club will be at the Nantyffin Motel on May 25 at 12.30 pm, when the speaker will be Alain Devenas speaking on the Entente Cordiale in French Rocketry.
