People causing problems by drinking in the grounds of Narberth Castle are being targeted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The Narberth team reported to the recent Police and Community Together (PACT) meeting that there had been recent incidents of people drinking and causing a nuisance and littering the castle grounds area.

PC Jackie Howells stated that she and other officers had attended the area and spoke to two people who were present in the grounds at the time, but no offences were being committed.

The officers also spoke to people in High Street who were seen in the grounds earlier and advice was given.

This problem of drinking had been dispersed last summer, but it was agreed to increase the patrols in this area throughout the summer months.

The PACT also agreed to continue to promote the Boat Watch scheme in the area.

The neighbourhood policing team updated the meeting that the yard owner at Lawrenny Quay had agreed to be the new boat watch co-ordinator and had taken excellent steps to secure the area.
