The community managed facility is run on behalf of the community in partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council and Narberth Town Council
Last night (Thursday March 19) the Board of Trustees met to discuss the situation in the hope the facility could remain open on reduce opening hours.
However, the Board of Trustees concluded that in order to safeguard the volunteer team and the library users during the COVID-19 outbreak, they had no choice but to close the facility with immediate effect until further notice.
In a statement, the Board of Trustees said: “We recognise the inconvenience this will cause.
“However with the county library service suspended our access to the IT infrastructure and wider library network will be unavailable.
“The decision will be kept under review. In the meantime please keep an eye on our social media channels for library services available online as part of your library membership.”
