Nomad Stars are the only unbeaten side in the Narberth Monday Leisure League as they saw off nearest rivals Sumo Warriors 2-0, despite a barrage of pressure on their goalkeeper James Philips. Flatpack 4 slipped down the chasing pack as they could only manage a 2-2 draw with Kilgetty Boys, although John Hefferman was in good form. Spice Boys were the big winners of the day as Jeff Marsh led them to a 6-2 victory against Landsker Eagles. The game of the day, though, saw Pendine Partimers squeeze out Stallion Men 5-3, leaving Stallion still searching for their first point of the new season. Peter Roberts starred for Pendine. There is still time to play in the Leisure League in Narberth. And it won't cost you a penny to join in the fun. The popular league runs every Monday at Narberth Leisure Centre and Leisure Leagues senior manager Chris Rowntree says that he is delighted with the response from teams. "It's a superb league," said Chris. "All the teams are really enjoying it and the feedback we are getting is all positive." Throughout October, Leisure Leagues are waiving the usual £25 joining fee, and will also give all new teams a free kit for their team to play in. Rowntree says that the offer will help the leagues continue to grow and added: "In order for the leagues to thrive, the more competitive teams we can get, the better. We are confident that the offers will attract more teams to the league." The matches all last for half-an-hour and are all refereed by a qualified official with all equipment provided.
