Kidwelly U12s 10 pts. Narberth U12s 7
Narberth produced their finest performance of the season... and still ended up losing to a powerful and skilful Kidwelly 'super club' outfit containing 10 Carmarthenshire players. In the first half, the young Otters were rampant and up front they really got into the Kidwelly pack and the excellent forward display meant that the exciting threequarters had plenty of good ball to work with. Narberth scored first through an opportunist try by classy fullback Connor Lloyd, which was converted by Sion Bennett, and the Otters missed a couple of other excellent opportunities which in the end proved costly. In the second half, Kidwelly stepped up a notch and, although Narberth defended superbly, Kidwelly scored two unconverted tries to keep their long unbeaten record intact. It is hard to single out individuals in such an excellent team performance, but quite a few of the non-county players, including prop Ryan Rees, second-row Rhys Thomas, flanker William Diamond and wing Adam Frearson, all had excellent games and are improving every week. Narberth: Connor Lloyd, Adam Frearson, William Boyde, Stuart White, Owen Davies, Angharad James, Teague Galvin, Ryan Rees, Lawrence Headlam, Daryl Brown, Rhys Thomas, William Diamond, Gareth Owens, Sion Bennett.
Kidwelly U11s 5 pts. Narberth U11s 5
In a fiercely contested game at Kidwelly, honours ended even for both teams. Having been beaten twice at home by Kidwelly this season, the Narberth team were keen to make amends and displayed real tenacity, commitment and team spirit away from home to gain the draw. Kidwelly scored an unconverted try in the second minute, with Narberth equalising in the last move of the match by Dylan Davies. Spectators saw and thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining game played with good spirit and high skill levels. The Narberth forwards got the better of their opposition with some great rucking and support play. Cillian Sharp Davies, William Ebsworth and Josh Helps, leading by example, were ably supported by Stanley Bellman, Dan Muscutt and Max Copley. Fielding three Llanelli District backs, Kidwelly posed danger every time they got the ball. Iwan Bowen Rees at outside-half marshalled his backs well and harried the opposition into making mistakes or tackled them beyond the gain line. In particular, Joey Lewis, Dylan Davies and Callum Phillips worked their socks off. Team: Adam Edwards, Iwan Bowen Rees, Callum Phillips, Luke Howitt, Dylan Davies (try), Joey Lewis, Jamie Holt, Max Copley, Stanley Bellman, Will Ebsworth, Cillian Sharp Davies, Josh Helps (capt.), Daniel Muscutt, Alistair Rees
Kidwelly U9s 10 pts. Narberth Under 9s 5
Kidwelly turned the tables on Narberth, having lost to them at Narberth recently, and scored at the death when a draw would have been the fairest result. Lucas Ridge, a new recruit to Narberth, is proving an excellent acquisition to the squad and he scored Narberth's try.
