The speaker at last week's meeting of Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club was Geraldine Leach.

Geraldine represented theTransition Narberth organisation. The organisation is a group of volunteers with no external financial support. The aim is to improve the environment of Narberth and district.

An area of garden allotments has been formed and a scheme is in progress to plant trees in suitable places around Narberth and surrounding areas. The trees are various in nature and are mainly nut trees and suitable fruit trees.

There are also moves afoot to arrange solar power for buildings in Narberth, such as the Queen's Hall and Bloomfield.

Trees may be sponsored by members of the public at £25 each which could serve as memorials. The group has a web site which is transitionarberth.org and a phone number 01834861187.
