The annual general meeting was held a couple of weeks ago at the RAOB. On the night, five teams dropped out, namely the White Horse, Globe A, Bush Llan A, Jeff C and Ivy Bush. Coming in, however, were eight teams, the Dragon B, RFC, Stanley Arms A and B, Beach Hotel B, Whitland Bowls, Taf B and Begelly Arms. Teams moving en bloc were the Old Vic A to the Greenbridge A and the Old Vic B to the Temple Bar B. Meaning that there would be 11 teams in each league. However this Tuesday there were two late entries, the Begelly Arms B and Sporting Chance, meaning that two leagues would have 12 and the other two would have 11. The league will commence on Thursday, September 27, with the first round of the team knockout taking place on Sunday, October 7. Also at the meeting the absent chairman, Fred Fox, sent his apologies as he had made his new home in the South of France and of course had to step down. Vice-chairman Jeff Thomas was then elected as new chairman. Vice-chairman is Shaw Povey, while Andrew Rees (treasurer) and Colin Hallwood (secretary) stayed on in their positions. Committee members are Simon Beynon, Meirion Rees and Lee Thomas. The treasurer stated that finances were in order and in a comfortable profit. Secretary Colin Hallwood stated that there was still some confusion over the new rules, especially claiming games for missing shots which does not exist. All Captains must brush up on their knowledge of the rules. All teams are wished a good and friendly season, and reminded to get the result cards in on time.
