During December, shoppers had the opportunity to win a giant panda bear sitting in the window of K&K Insurance in Main Street, Pembroke, by suggesting a suitable name.

The bear was donated to Clr. Keith Nicholas by Dafydd Palmer at the Pembroke Fair reception last October.

The panda was won by Mrs. Joan Lewis, of Maidenwells, and the competition raised £50 for Help for Heroes and Stackpole Mencap Gardens which are the Mayor of Pembroke's charities.
