Sir,
From last October up to Christmas, a group of up to 30 of us came together every Tuesday evening in the village hall to sing carols and have fun. We were not required to be singers, just enthusiastic - nevertheless we somehow ended up singing three-part harmonies.
We were lucky to be organised into some semblance of performance by Marion Graceson, who always emphasised that leading a group was new to her, although she had sung in choirs for many years. Marion's commitment to us was only until Christmas. However, many members of our group would like to carry on singing in some form until Easter and we need someone to step into Marion's shoes.
We are a friendly, very non-precious gang who enjoy a laugh. We formed originally to raise money for the village hall and have no grand performing aspirations. We just enjoy singing, talking and music of any kind and we are hoping that someone will come forward to help us carry on.
If you are interested in giving it a go, please ring me on (01834) 842878.
P.S. Our other great need is a keyboard with full-sized keys. If anyone has one that they are prepared to lend, we would be very grateful.
Marcia Sivell,
Penally.
