A Murder Mystery dinner at the De Valence, Tenby, last month, saw a packed audience of 84 diners and seven actors donate £818 to this life saving charity. The hall looked particularly attractive with candlelit elegant tables circling the centre piece displaying the prizes. Al Fresco Catering, of Manorbier, served an excellent meal and the Aladdin theme, with actors dressed in their pantomime costumes, courtesy of Griggles, provided entertainment, as they were quizzed by each table in turn. Only the murderer could lie and the diners soon exposed some murky truths about the rest of the cast and there was a great atmosphere as the contest hotted up to guess 'whodunnit.' Hilary Harvey, fund-raising co-ordinator for Wales Air Ambulance, said: "Thanks to the commitment of Len, Lillen, Marge, Keith, Lou, Heidi, Margaret, Rodney, Gordon, Abigail and other volunteers, plus Claire Porter from the De Valence, this was a superb evening. "Everyone entered into the festive spirit and enjoyed themselves. "This sum has raised sufficient for 55 minutes flying time, virtually the 'Golden Hour', and could well have saved the life of someone in this area. "By taking part in our event, the audience, those that gave raffle prizes and particularly Mike Thorne, of Murder and Mayhem, who wrote and directed this piece of theatre, all deserve my grateful thanks for helping to keep our helicopters flying. "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Phil Thompson, of Chevron Texaco, for supporting our initiative and sponsoring the event. "2006 is going to be busy, as the charity needs £2.2 million to fund this vital service. Last year was a productive year and I consider that this year will be even better."
