Claire Britton, of Stepaside, has recently returned from Mexico where she carried out a voluntary teaching project for the organisation, Outreach International.
This involved teaching English to underprivileged children in a state secondary school and organising after-school activities for primary school children in the local library. To take part in the project, Claire had to raise funds towards the cost.
She was overwhelmed by the generosity shown by the local community and managed to raise most of the funds required through fund-raising activities and donations.
Claire would like to say a huge thank you to all the various organisations, local businesses, individuals and friends and family who contributed, both in terms of donations and general support. Their generosity was greatly appreciated. Muchas gracias!
