In response to concerns from the community, local Member of the Senedd, Samuel Kurtz has called for further investment in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire schools.
Speaking on the subject, Mr. Kurtz said: “It was fantastic to have recently visited Cosheston VC School and to see how energetic and dedicated the staff are to providing the best education they can for their pupils. However, Covid has exasperated some of the long-standing issues around space at the school; the teachers and pupils deserve better.”
He continued: “While the school currently makes use of a portable building, and the local authority is able to improve these within the next 12/18 months, what staff and pupils require is a permanent solution. Therefore, it’s absolutely vital that Pembrokeshire County Council utilise the 21st Century Schools Programme and prioritise their applications, in order to address the concerns of staff, students and parents at Cosheston VC School.”
