Local MP Nick Ainger has given a 60th birthday card signed by many local people to Tenby Cottage Hospital. Mr. Ainger said: "Many people wrote in the card of their gratitude for what the NHS had done for them. "Since Labour's Nye Bevan created the NHS in 1948, it has been the dedication of doctors, nurses and staff and that core principle of free health care for everyone which has made the NHS so successful and the envy of the world. "At this 60th anniversary we should remind ourselves of this great British achievement, a service available to all based on need, not the ability to pay. "July 5 was an opportunity to say thank you to the staff who have delivered care over the past 60 years and to the vision of Nye Bevan and the post war Labour Government." Mr. Ainger is pictured giving the card to staff member Heather Willoughby, along with local Labour members.
