ANOTHER 23 people from all parts of Pembrokeshire have completed successfully a training course for organisers of community festivals and events.
Event organisers attended training sessions on planning and risk assessment, funding, writing press releases, promotion and licensing.
The sessions were arranged by PLANED (Pembrokeshire Local Action Network for Enterprise and Development) following the success of a similar course - the first course of its kind in the county - earlier this year.
PLANED chairman Bill Philpin presented the organisers with certificates at Haverfordwest Cricket Club on Friday, June 6. Successful participants also received copies of PLANED's new reference handbook 'Organising Community Events and Festivals'.
Pembrokeshire County Council's new arts officer, Christine Willison, gave a presentation on 'The Arts in Pembrokeshire'. Freelance marketing consultant Karen Chandler led a workshop on preparing publicity material.
PLANED community entrepreneurship officer Helen Thomas said: "We'd like to hear now from anyone involved in community events who might be interested in joining a group to look at joint promotion and co-ordination in their area."
Funding has been provided under the EU LEADER+ programme.
