Sir,
The development of the Saundersfoot Sensory Garden project at the start of 2002 was broadly welcomed by local residents and, during the ensuing months, enthusiasm has enjoyed rises and suffered falls according to the variations in visual achievement throughout the progression of the work involved, but currently it would seem to be a popular and successful enterprise for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
As the renowned BBC newscaster, Jamie Owen, would probably say - "much appreciated!"
However, there has throughout been one constant distraction difficult to describe in moderate terms but perhaps the word 'ugly' would be acceptable. I speak of the wall facing the garden from the Information Office building, about which various rumours have been circulating over the months such as the prospect of it being painted, or washed down,or demolished. But nothing has actually been done to remove the blight which remains so grossly manifest.
I enclose a photograph of this particular eyesore which I took recently and I visited the site immediately prior to writing this letter, sadly finding the situation as portrayed still manifest. Or is it perhaps supposed to be a form of modern art decor, about which I am singularly ignorant?
Frederic G. Morton,
Rook Howe,
