Correspondence from Rotary president Peter Oeppen came before councillors at a meeting of Tenby Town Council on Tuesday night.
Mr. Oeppen explained that one of the Rotarians who was an architect had suggested to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority the idea of installing 'see through' gates at the entrance to Brother Thomas's Garden to help combat anti-social behaviour, and sought councillors' views on the matter.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, felt that open gates could add to rubbish being blown through into the garden and as the gates were locked at night anyway, there was not much scope for anti-social behaviour occurring there.
"I'd like to see the solid doors retained, but we're thrilled that the Rotary are willing to help assist us on projects like this and open to any ideas going forward," she said.
Her colleague, Clr. Mike Evans, agreed and congratulated the Rotary Club on helping on the matter.
"I'd personally prefer that the wooden doors were refurbished; I think that it has a lovely 'secret garden' feel to it, which I'd like to see kept," he said.
Members agreed that a letter of thanks should be sent to Mr. Oeppen thanking the Rotary Club for their help.
