A Tenby couple were singing 'good golly miss Molly' this week after the return of their beloved family dog, almost a year-and-a-half after it was taken from near their home.

Andrea and Tommy Richards, who run Augustus Guest House in the resort's Southcliffe Street, were left devastated back in June of 2010, when their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Molly disappeared after escaping from their home when she was just 10-months-old.

The couple learnt from reports at the time that their pup had run to the nearby South Beach car park, where she was taken into a car by people who told a passer-by they would take the dog to a vet.

A media campaign with a plea for information on Molly's whereabouts was run and a reward for her return was offered.

Then last week, 16 months after Molly's disappearance, the Richards' received the phone call they were waiting for, after their pet pooch was discovered in Doncaster.

A family who had bought the pup took her to their vets after Molly (seen above with owner Andrea) had swallowed a conker, and while having a scan, the microchip with the Richards' contact details was discovered by the vet.

After a journey up to Doncaster, the couple now have Molly back home in Tenby, where she's sure to be kept on a short lead!
