Lord Elis-Thomas AM, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport paid a visit to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery on Monday.
The Museum celebrates its 140th anniversary this year and the Trustees were delighted to welcome the Minister.
The Minister toured the Museum and was very interested in and knowledgeable about the Museum’s permanent art collection.
With the Museum’s Trustees Lord Elis-Thomas discussed the future of museums and other heritage venues throughout Wales and how greater links could be achieved.
The Trustees also explored with the Minister how they are developing a strategic and sustainable future for Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, increasing visitor numbers, essential to the Museum’s long term viability, and also working with the local population to create a community centred hub.
The Minister was very encouraging and will keep in touch with the plans.
Before he left Lord Elis-Thomas also met with Claudia Williams, the well know artist who lives in Tenby.
