The WYA zone championship took place at Pembrokeshire Yacht Club last Saturday and Sunday. The event saw over 100 entrants, their families and friends, and an army of over 100 volunteers gather at Gelliswick Bay for the weekend.
The team at Milford Marina, which is owned and operated by the Port of Milford Haven, was keen to support this grass roots championship, to support junior sailors and to inspire the local community to consider sailing as an activity.
Lucy James, marketing manager at the Port of Milford Haven, said: "Milford Marina was proud to sponsor the WYA Welsh Zone Championships at Pembrokeshire Yacht Club. It really was a spectacular event, with junior entrants from all over Wales competing on the Milford Haven Waterway in a variety of classes."
Milford Marina is already committed to working with the RYA and its Welsh arm, the WYA. Having joined the RYA Active Marine scheme earlier this year in partnership with Neyland Yacht Haven, Milford Marina now has a busy calendar of cruising, training and social events for berth holders and those interested in sailing.
