Two further ideas have been put forward as to how Tenby remembers one of its greatest characters. To honour former councillor and four times Mayor, Mr. Denzil Griffiths, it has been suggested that possibly the new recreational area at the Duke of York Walk could be named after him or a fund set- up to purchase daffodils which could be planted around the town.
The new ideas have been mooted by one of Mr. Griffiths's former council colleagues, Mr. Alan Mace. Ideas already proposed include naming the garden area opposite W. H. Smith after him or designating the Bells Corner, where he had planted hundreds of daffodils, to him.
Members of Tenby Town Council agreed that, although they were putting forward suggestions, it would be Mr. Griffiths's family who would make the final decision.
