Sir,

May I through your paper thank all of Tenby for the support shown at this year's Terry Hermann Fishing Competition. This year's was the best yet, with the biggest turnout to date. The fishing didn't quite live up to last year's catch, but the evening far surpassed it, with a grand total of £2,557 raised in aid of Cancer Research UK.

My late husband Terry was so proud of Tenby; I know he would be immensely proud of each and everyone who partipated.

I would like to thank John Handicott, Anthony and Evie and Dai the Boot for organising and running the day once again, the day's main sponsor, Mr. Carl Long, of Haven Colourprint, for the posters and his generous donation, and also Jason and staff at the Hope and Anchor for hosting us once again in such a welcoming manner.

It was great to see so many familiar and new faces participating in this year's competition. It seems to be building year on year. I hope that everybody enjoyed their day - I'm sure they enjoyed the night with maybe one or two sore heads on Monday morning.

In closing, I would like to thank the organisers for their time and efforts, the sponsors for funds and prizes they so freely and generously donated, the competitors themselves and all of you who supported the auction and raffle in the Hope and Anchor which enabled the evening fund-raising to achieve such a grand total.

The money has gone to a great cause, and I'm sure Cancer Research UK will put it to good use.

Thank you all so much and here's to the same again next year.

C. M. Thomas, Tenby.
