THE De Valence Pavilion was filled with music enthusiasts of all ages from over the county on Friday, September 26, when Tenby Arts Festival presented an evening of popular classical music with famous singer and presenter, Aled Jones and distinguished classical harpist, Elinor Bennett.

They delighted the audience with a selection of solos: Aled with 'All through the Night', 'Did you hear my lady?', 'Vespera, Deep Peace' and 'San Daminiano', while Elinor‚s programme was Welsh Melodies by John Thomas, Mozart, Faure, William Mathias and an excerpt from Arfon by the Festival's vice-chairman, Professor Parrot.

Aled and Elinor performed 'Suo Gan' and 'Dafydd y Garreg', together and their final duet was 'How Great thou Art'.

The Festival was most grateful to Aled's‚ agent, Peter Price who also brought exciting mezzo-soprano, Katherine Jenkins, and the impressive violin duet, Duel, to Tenby, prior to their accompanying Aled on his National Tour which started last week.

The concert was a memorable occasion that will go down in the annals of the Tenby Arts Festival.
